| Introduction
Child Support Services of Colorado
provides services to make sure children get financial and medical
support from both parents. We provide a variety of services to help
children get the support they need. These services include:
- Locating a child's parent(s) to
obtain support or establish paternity
- Establishing paternity of a child
- Establishing and enforcing child
support orders
- Modifying child support orders
- Enforcing spousal support if child
support is also involved
- Obtaining and enforcing orders for
medical support
Both parents must help us reach this
goal. This includes making payments on time, providing complete
information, showing up for court, and updating us when information
changes.
When a parent does not help provide
support for children, we will take legal actions to ensure that the
parent's obligations are met. Federal law requires each state to make
sure children receive financial and medical support from both parents.
In Colorado, each county is
responsible for providing child support services. Some counties
contract with private companies to provide child support services for
residents. In El Paso County, the Department of Social Services
contracts with Policy Studies Inc., which operates under the name of
Child Support Services of Colorado, to provide these services. Click
